During this course, students draw several different cartoon animals.
Suggested weekly themes (although students are encouraged to make requests):
WEEK 1: Domesticated Animals (i.e. cats, dogs, hamster, fish)
WEEK 2: Field Animals (i.e. rabbits, mice, fox, squirrel)
WEEK 3: Wild Animals (i.e. monkey, giraffe, tiger, lion)
WEEK 4: Farm Animals (i.e. pig, horse, cow, lamb)
Children have fun with Aakansha's curriculum which includes seasonal pop art, cartooning, and graphic design.
Aakansha will guide students step by step, stacking basic geometric shapes with a pencil until the basic shape of the animal is established. Personalized background details will be added lightly before students begin to color their art pieces.
Aakansha will share shading and texturing techniques for colored pencils. Students may use crayons, markers, gel pens, or any coloring utensils they are most comfortable with.
Students thrive in a creative environment where they are encouraged to develop their imagination and artistic expression.
Research shows there is a significant connection between arts and achievement.
Drawing and coloring develop many talents, such as:
• fine motor skills
• spatial reasoning
• creative problem-solving
