About Eiichi

Dr. Eiichi Tosaki is a Melbourne based artist, art historian, and philosopher (originally from Osaka Japan). Over a period of thirty years he has developed a system of Bimanual Coordination Drawing (BCD).

He has taught various subjects including Philosophy, religion, art history, Japanese culture (including Anime and Manga), Japanese language, linguistics, painting, drawing, architecture and theory of art.

Eiichi also taught at Japanese International School in Melbourne, teaching Mathematics, literature for 10 to 14 years old kids. He also has had experiences of teaching online internationally.

Eiichi’s works

His book “Mondrian’s Philosophy of Visual Rhythm – Phenomenology, Wittgenstein, and Eastern thought” was published by Springer in 2017. He has lectured widely on art history, art theory, philosophy, religion, animation, Japanese culture and fine art.

He has published internationally on art history, philosophy, and Japanese culture, exhibited and collaborated broadly with artists, musicians, and computer programmers (including Tokyo Wondersite, Fukushima Biennale, and Scienceworks).

Qualifications

-PhDs are in Art theory (Melbourne University 2002)
-Art practice (Monash University 2016).
